Abstract

Historical events often receive significantly different interpretations and assessments from the perspective of different social and ethnic groups. It is not possible to approach with a true/false evaluation, but it is possible to examine the view from a different perspective and try to understand its causes.

In this context, the events of 1968 are of interest, as well as a look at them from a Russian perspective. Why did these events end up on the periphery of Russia's collective memory, although they had important and long-term significance also for Soviet history?
