Inside Rembrandt or the enforcement of a judicial decision against the Czech Republic in Germany

Abstract

The lecture concerned the case of an artwork from the NGP collection that was, despite the fact that the immunity from seizure was issued, seized for the enforcement of an arbitral award against the Czech Republic. The lecture describes both the background of this case and the practical functioning of immunities from seizure in Germany.
