Abstract
The books analyzes reflections of phenomena of rest, idle and work in medieval textual and visual materials. Individual chapters are devoted to various attitudes of medieval authors and to discourses, where these attitudes were discussed as well as to argumentation and purposes associated with mentionned phenomena and to cultural stereotypes and literary tools used to represent and to utilise them.
