Abstract
The International Festival of Concert Melodrama MelodramFest celebrated its 25th anniversary with a concert on 9 October 2022 at the HAMU Gallery, Lichtenstein Palace. This review focuses on the first concert of the festival's autumn series, which the Zdeněk Fibich Society organised in collaboration with the Department of Music Theory at HAMU.
The works of Jiří Bezděk were performed: the modern cantata Vocatus atque non vocatus Deus aderit (on a text by Pavel Kolmačka) and the melodrama Enoch Arden Op. 38 by Richard Strauss (on a text by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, translated into Czech by Vlasta Reittererová).
