The Challenge of Self-Adapting: Phenomenological Paths to Self-Development

Abstract

The phenomenon of self-unfolding can be experienced as the burden of one's personality when circumstances do not allow for the unveiling of the self. Then the personal tragedy begins: On the one hand, I strive for myself, and on the other hand, circumstances call me to other possibilities.

Which direction should I devote myself to? To what extent am I changing in the constant adaptation of my personality to circumstances?
