The conference was the final activity of the five-year-research project Presentation and Interpretation of Historic Environment as a Part of Cultural Heritage Education and Learning in Times of New Media and Liquid Modernity, funded by the Czech government. It was organised by two project partners: Czech National Heritage Institute and Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague. Foreign guests from the USA, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the Netherlands, and more than twenty lecturers from the Czech Republic shared their experience with the interpretation of cultural heritage.
The aim of the conference was to provide a stimulus for an international and interdisciplinary debate on the role of interpretation within democratic cultural heritage management in the 21st century.
