Abstract

Based on the text of the Chronica Bohemorum anonymi preserved in the manuscript of syndicate and councilor in Plzeň Fabián Stehlík of Čenkov and Treustadt (KNM VIII F 49), the author shows how Czech historiography changed in the late Middle Ages from a chronicle compiled by a clergyman, most likely a member of the Prague Red Star Crusader Monastery and intended for the clergy to the history arranged by a layman, probably a burgher of the Old Town of Prague, and intended for lay people, especially city dwellers.
