In countries with advanced educational system, a continuous long-term development of the national curriculum is a natural process of education system evolution. The curricular reforms and revisions then shape the ways individual subjects (incl. geography) are taught.
Similarly, curriculum revisions have been realized every decade since 1989 in Czechia. Currently, the major revision of the Czech national curriculum is underway. The article presents the key issues of this revision, presents the standpoint of the geographical community on these key issues, and discusses possible effects of the revision on geography teaching.
