Abstract

The chapter clarifies the economic consequences of the advent of the communist dictatorship, especially changes in the structure of industry towards heavy industry, the completion of nationalization and the collectivization of the village. It characterizes the first systemic crisis of the economy in connection with the monetary reform and the path to the first economic reform.

Hit explains the causes of the collapse of the third five-year plan as a prerequisite for the onset of O. Šik's reform stream. It outlines the reform steps and their contradictory consequences in the invasion of Warsaw Pact troops.
