Abstract

This study is based on paper, which I have given on the international conference The Birth of the Modern Central Europe Citizen, Kroměříž, September 2018. It is composed from four parts: 1.

Introduction: ideological influences and intellectual profile of the young Palacký. 2. Palacký's federalism before March 1848. 3. Palacký's Central Europeanism and federalism during the revolution 1848-1849. 4.

In conclusion: Palacký's federalism in the new constitutional era. In Palacký's political legacy played the quest of the best Central Europe organization indeed important role. Although his project of Austrian federation, which he created above all in years of revolution 1848-1849, was not successful, we can still consider this effort as a honest and crucial step in his search for national justice.
