Abstract
Review of the book Dagmar Glüxam "Aus der Seele muß man spielen .... Über die Affekttheorie in der Musik des 17. und 18. Jahrhunderts und ihre Auswirkung auf die Interpretation", which deals with the issue of musical representation of human affect as one of the basic requirements applied in the musical composition of the 17th and 18th centuries.
Through a detailed analysis of contemporary writings, the book focuses mainly on a detailed description of the influence of this theory on the area of adequate performance of music of this period.
