Abstract

An exhibition of Czechoslovak film posters for Yugoslav films shown in Czechoslovakia from the 1960s to the late 1980s was held at the Jugoslovenska kinoteka in Belgrade from 26 September to 26 October 2022. The exhibition was organised by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Serbia on the occasion of the Czech EU Presidency.

The authors of the exhibition were Ondřej Vojtěchovský from the Faculty of Arts of Charles University and Marie Barešová from the NFA. The exhibition presented 40 posters.

The authors prepared an information banner and a catalogue. On the occasion of the opening, the authors spoke about Czechoslovak-Yugoslav relations in film and held a public discussion with Srdjan Karanović and Goran Marković, Serbian directors, graduates of FAMU in Prague.

Two films of Czechoslovak-Yugoslav co-production, selected by the authors of the exhibition, were screened. The exhibition was highly publicized in the Serbian media.

The main daily newspapers covered them, and Ondřej Vojtěchovský also gave an interview to the Serbian state television RTS. The exhibition is a popularization of the research that both authors have been engaged in in their scientific projects.
