Abstract

According to RVP G, media education at grammar schools should offer "basic knowledge about the role of the media in society and its history". It is very important for the pupils to realize that difficulties connected with the evaluation of information mediated by a third party were also experienced by people in past periods.

Already in ancient Rome there were "newspapers" (the so-called Acta - populi, diurna, etc.), announcers and "social media" (eg inscriptions in Pompeii, etc.).
