Abstract
In the history of Czech society, confessions and their theological education, a number of personalities played a significant religious and social role, among them Jan Amos Komenský in a prominent place. This fact can also be realized when studying the history of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church.
For the Czech Catholic modernists, the founders of this church, Comenius became an intellectual challenge to which they responded within the framework of their theological education and understanding of the changing place of the church in history and in the world.
