Counselling services at universities with emphasis on Charles University and the Faculty of Education
Abstract
Faculty of Education, as other faculties of Charles University, pays attention to applicants and students with specific needs. The result is a sophisticated and integrated system of support, which is provided to applicants and students both at the faculty and at the university level.
The presented paper has four parts. In the first part, we deal with the starting points, status and current challenges of university counselling in the Czech Republic.
The second part presents the system of support at Charles University within the so-called centralized and decentralized services. The third part is devoted to counselling services and students with specific needs at the Faculty of Education of the Charles University.
The last, fourth part, informs about the Academic Counselling Office at the Faculty of Education, which was supported through the OP VVV ESF project for VŠ II at the UK - both in terms of key activities and specific parts of the project, which were aimed at supporting students with specific needs and other students in need, but also to teachers at Charles university.
