Women and a Fief. The Forms of the feudal Institute in the Registers of Deeds

Abstract

The chapter is dealing with the problem of the fiefs in the hands of women. On the basis of the Saxon chartres analyses the evidence of women's feudal tenure and tries to show, that the form and way of women's tenancy differs not from the fiefs possesedby men.
