The introductory study analyses secondary school teaching of philosophy in the Czech Republic in terms of the content of textbooks and related content in the Framework Education Programme for secondary schools (FEP). The author points out the insufficient connection of key competences with the expected outcomes within the Introduction to Philosophy and Religious Studies and presents her own proposal of philosophical competences.
In the final part of the study, she presents selected aspects of German didactics of philosophy conceptions which are in line with the competence orientation of the FEP and could help to change the approach to teaching philosophy in the Czech Republic.
