"I frequently see him on the paintings, but people don't know who he should be." Iconography of the story of power-lusting horse in the "multimedial" document of the first quarter of the 14th Century

Abstract

Analysis of the illumination of a manuscript-story about the power-lusting horse Fauvel, comissioned by the father of the Czech Queen Blanche - Charles of Valois in the years 1317-1321. The study contains translation of the passages neccessary to the understanding of the iconographical program.
