Abstract

The period from the beginning of the 18th century to the mid-1740s was also a time of numerous administrative reforms and the establishment of various commissions, especially ones attached to the Czech Vice-regency and the Czech Chamber. One special group among them were whose remit covered matters relating to the Jewish population, headed by the Jewish Commission (the so-called Commissio in rebus Judaeorum), established in 1714.

Alongside it were other commissions - an Inquisition Commission was established for the administration of financial matters by leaders of the Jewish community. Its activities were connected to a greater or lesser degree with the commissions dealing with tax issues.

The special Prague Commission for Economic and Police issues (Economie- und Polizeikommission), referred to in written sources as the contribution commission, economic commission or administrative commission, was linked to the issue of the Jewish pardon and also contribution issues.
