Historical Transformations of Christianity and Luhmann's Theory of Autopoietic Systems

Abstrakt

In this study I examine the historical thransformations of Western Christianity, with an emphasis on the current situation and the possibilities for the future development of Christianity in an postmodern pluralist culture. My methodological approach to this topic draws on a variety of sources.

Here I want to highlight a certain affinity of my approach with Luhmann's understanding of religion as an autopoietic system.
