Experience with a distance learning courses support on Charles University and with running distance learning courses specialized on medical informatics

Abstract
Description of experience with Moodle's implementation as a platform supported by Charles University for a development of distance learning courses at CU faculties. Moodle has been run at CU Computer Centre since 2002.
Teachers' concern about distance learning courses development was centred at a few workplaces at the beginning. Development project was approved in 2004 and 13 of 17 faculties of CU are taking part in it.
A set of distance learning courses covering education of medical informatics at 2nd Faculty of Medicine has been developed within the project. The project includes courses for Bachelor and Master degree education and includes an education in English as well.
