Abstract
A 79-year-old man presented with a history of bilateral anterior thigh pain after low-impact trauma when he fell onto his knees while hiking 5 years earlier. He noted immediate thigh pain and muscle weakness.
His treatment consisted of rest and statin therapy discontinuation. He suffered anterior thigh pain for 4 months after the injury, and then the pain turned into cramping while standing.
His medical history includes hypercholesterolemia and benign prostate hyperplasia. He was administered atorvastatin medication 5 years preceding the injury, and the creatinine kinase level was intermittently elevated up to 784 U/L during the treatment.
