Continuous control of the basal setting in manual mode of the MiniMed 780G hybrid insulin pump

Abstract

The manual mode of hybrid insulin pumps is used to increase the basal and bolus dose during illness with hyperglycaemias that the automatic mode cannot crorrect. Setting the manual basal of the MiniMed 780G system, which does not correspond to the values generated by algoritm, can become a health risk, especially during treatment at the limit of technical recommendations, i.e. 8 units of insulin per day.
