New rules for the safety of ski areas and the pracitsing of snow sports in Italy - Part 1

Publication at Faculty of Law |
2022

Abstract

The article describes the change in the legislation on the safety of snow sports in Italy, where eighteen years after the adoption of the first special regulation at the national level, an extensive amendment took place. This eliminated some serious legislative errors, filled unwanted gaps and improved the wording of some original provisions.

The new regulation also included some completely new elements, including, for example, socially desirable support for disabled skiers or mandatory liability insurance for damage to third parties. It also contains the unification of technical criteria for ski areas and downhill tracks.
