"New thinking" and "negative phenomena": Marxist - Leninist education in the period 1987-1988

Abstract

The paper reflects on the legacy left to us by forty years of experience of Marxist ideas. It points out the "ideological contradictions" in the period 1987-1988. It then looks at what so-called 'new thinking' meant and how the ideologues of the time imagined that it would cause people to start 'thinking anew'. How the ideologues of the Communist Party of the Czech Republic's UV ideology approached the gap between theory and practice, or how they tried to deal with the so-called "negative phenomena". And that means thinking about the process of reconstruction in the context of the ideas that shaped this totalitarian system, the legacy of Marx.

The paper deals with the question of temporal plurality in Marx's work, but also with "power" (gewalt) or the question of the subject as an empirically universal individual.
