Abstract
In certain aspects, disclosed herein is a method of preventing Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) in a subject, the method comprising administering bazedoxifene to the subject. In some embodiments, the subject has COVID-19.
In some embodiments, the subject is at risk of a cytokine storm. In some embodiments, administering the bazedoxifene prevents initiation of a cytokine storm.
In some embodiments, administering the bazedoxifene reduces the severity of a cytokine storm. In some embodiments, administering the bazedoxifene reduces the level of IL-6 signaling in the subject.In certain aspects, disclosed herein is a method of preventing a cytokine storm in a subject, the method comprising administering bazedoxifene to the subject.
