Abstract
The paper occupies dominantly with 100th anniversary of the "Pédagogie sportive", which was published by les édicions G. Crés et cie in 1922. The Pédagogie sportiveʼs author, Pierre de Coubertin, firstly point out the chosen social, political and economic issues not only in the then France but also in other European countries. Further in the paper, we briefly describe and analyse particular chapters of Pédagogie sportive. This book, in its first part, occupies with a history of physical exercises since ancient times until nowadays. The second part is focused on a description and delimination of certain sports' branches and the third part deals with ethical issues in sport. In the end of the book, there is mentioned an effort of Pierre de
Coubertin to push through the changes in the Olympics. The second part of this paper is consisted from a description and conclusions of the conference "100 years of Sport Pedagogy", which was held in Pragueʼs Carolinum in June 2022 in connection with the publishment of Pédagogie sportive.
