Czechs and Slovaks in Bulgaria. Contributions to the study of Czech, Slovak and Czechoslovak compatriot presence in Bulgarian countries

Abstract

At the beginning of 1993, independent states - the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic - appeared on the map of Europe. Each of these states began to deal with its own compatriots separately.

This publication on the study of the Czech, Slovak and Czechoslovak compatriot presence in the Bulgarian lands goes against this trend and seeks to rehabilitate a common Czechoslovak research perspective; it deals with both "Bulgarian" Czechs and Slovaks and shows that in many cases compatriot organizations ignored the break-up of the confederation.
