Abstract
Currently, more and more emphasis is placed on the scientist not only to publish but mainly on being cited. In recent years, the world of academic research and publication has been invaded by low-quality and commercial journals that imitate serious peer-reviewed scientific journals.
These journals often parasitize on the names of prestigious journals and state that they have a high impact factor. The work aims to present what the impact factor is and how it can be verified so that the publishing author does not send an article to an undesired journal.
