This paper will present a project that aims to digitize, for the very first time, information on translations of Czech literature to, first, facilitate the research on this topic and, second, make the work of literary translators and their role in shaping the "literary system" more visible. The project, which is being implemented at the Institute of Translation at Charles University, seeks to find methods of online research on the historiography of translation and to create a digital database of translations of Czech literature.
In the first phase, an online open access digitizable database of translations of Czech literature into Spanish will be created as a base with the possibility of extending the databases and including translations into other languages. This digital product will serve not only as a research tool for academics and students, but also as a source of information for translators, publishers, various cultural institutions, the public, and those interested in literature and literary translation.
