At the beginning, the author outlines the history of non-major teaching of Czech for foreigners at Czech universities. He will try to apply his experience of teaching Czech to foreigners to the teaching of foreign languages at Czech universities.
It will focus on the transformation of teaching under the impression of the Language Policy of the Council of Europe, i.e. the implementation of the principles of the CEFR and also the influence of the adoption of the so-called Bologna Declaration. The main topic of his presentation will be reflection on the goals of non-major teaching of Czech for foreigners at Czech universities, as well as on the language needs of Czech and foreign university students in various fields.
The author will also think about how the focus of language teaching meets these needs, e.g. the extent to which the teaching also takes into account the professional speech of workers in various fields, etc
