Georgia : Transformation of the national curriculum

Publication at Faculty of Education |
2024

Abstract

Focusing on Georgia, the chapter shows the difficulty of curriculum development in a 'conflict-torn country' and the quest for balance between the autonomy provided to schools and teachers and the necessary structured support provided by the national curriculum. At the same time, it shows the ambiguous impact of importing international models in the field of the curriculum, teaching, and assessment into the post-Soviet space.
