Abstract

The presented text focuses on possibilities of supporting students with hearing impairment during their studies at university. At the same time it focuses on methodical support for teachers and academic staff. It outlines the very diverse needs of the students in terms of their auditory perception and communication needs and describes common problematic areas in the teaching and communi- cation. The text further focuses on options for establishing a functional communication process with the use of sign language interpretation or simultaneous transcript. It concludes by summarising basic contacts and information regarding the possibility of providing additional necessary support for Charles

University employees.
