In the Czech Republic, influenza was often perceived as a common uncomplicated illness. Recently, it has been completely overshadowed by the covid-19 disease, but this situation can change quickly.
The incidence of influenza is increasing, and parallel circulation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and influenza viruses is now common. Vaccination against the flu, which reduces the risk of infection and the risk of a complicated course, is becoming more important.
People over the age of 65, patients with chronic internal diseases (even in childhood), pregnant women and those who are in contact with risk persons should be vaccinated.
