The contribution of language corpora to the study of the characteristics of informal spoken communication

Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to demonstrate, on the analysis of a specific linguistic phenomenon, the turn that occurred thanks to digital technologies in linguistics. Specifically, it is the part-of-speech classification of some inflexible words, typically particles, whose functions differ significantly in written and spoken language.
The text shows the importance of spoken corpora for the determination of part of speech in such cases.
