Article 20 of the Treaty on European Union

Abstract

The Institute of Enhanced Cooperation enables member states to cooperate even in situations where the necessary agreement for the adoption of the relevant act is not found in the Council of the EU, thus ensuring flexible integration. Its advantage is the possibility of deepening European integration within the EU contractual framework by only some states, which was not possible before.
