Abstract
Articles 326-334 of the TFEU contain the rules of so-called enhanced cooperation (previously called "closer cooperation"), which supplement the basic legislation in Article 20 TEU. Strengthened cooperation enables the deepening of European integration in selected areas by member states that show an interest in it.
Articles 326-334 of the TFEU establish some other substantive legal conditions for the establishment and implementation of enhanced cooperation and procedural rules for its establishment (Article 329 of the TFEU) or the accession of a new member state to ongoing enhanced cooperation (Article 331 of the TFEU).
