Abstract

The afterword summarizes the significance of the book's author, Jan Blommaert, for sociolinguistics in general and for linguistic landscape research in particular. The chapter briefly comments on some of the main concepts of the book: indexicality of language, historicity and ethnography.

Finally, it provides an overview of Czech studies on linguistic landscapes.
