Research Report: Society and the Church in the Process of Restitution of Church Property: Promoting Participation

Publication

Abstract

The text offers different perspectives on the changes that the church is going through in connection with the restitution process and foregrounds the key themes and questions that arise in this context. At the same time, the changes that we paid attention to do not only concern the internal functioning of the church. We were also interested in the relationship between the church and "non-church" society or the ways in which church restitution is written and spoken about in the media.

Our aim was, on the one hand, to give a voice to the widest possible range of actors and thus point out the diversity of ways in which the church and its role in the world are thought about. At the same time, we wanted to write a comprehensible and inspiring text, which - as we believe - will be read not only in the bishopric or in the parishes, but also by many others.
