Abstract

The collective monograph is the first publication published by the Centre for Teacher Education of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, which was established in 2021. The book includes contributions from the fields of didactics of Czech language and literature, foreign languages, history and the pedagogical-psychological preparation of teachers.

It offers up-to-date views on approaches to professional tertiary education of future teachers and systematization of the latest findings in teacher-training. In addition, it presents recent research dealing with teacher-training issues, faculty teacher issues and pedagogical practices.

The publication also aims to highlight the major gaps in teacher preparation and the factors affecting novice teachers' adaptation to educational practice. Finally, the book seeks to identify those areas where the pedagogical-psychological and disciplinary components of teacher education can interact.
