Abstract

The Austrian poet Georg Trakl (1887-1914) left a significant mark in the history of modern German written literature with his enchanting poetry. In his monograph, the translator and German bohemian Radek Malý tries to convey to a wider professional and reading public a contemporary view of Trakl's poetry, especially in the context of its Czech reception - since already from the twenties of the twentieth century, Trakl had a significant impact on the development of Czech poetry with his work.

On the basis of analyzes of translations of poems, their comparisons, comments and interpretations, a plastic and reader-friendly picture of not only Georg Trakl's poetic world, but also of various Czech poets who were inspired by him, emerges.
