Abstract
The essay offers an summary over our contemporary knowledge of the erudition and education in Baroque period with a main accent to high education, namely in universities of Prague, Olomouc and Wrocław. It pays attention to pedagogic institutions on a middle and lower degree and the theoretical pedagogic conceptions of catholic system of schools.
