Abstract
The study focuses on the life and career of Vilém of Vřesovice and on Doubravská Hora, the royal prosecutor of the Jagiellonian age and the first chamberlain in the period after the Battle of Mohács. Vilém of Vřesovice was one of the leading representatives of chivalry at the turn of the Middle Ages and the modern era.
Vilém stood at the beginning of the rise of the the house of Doubravský of Vřesovice, the most important branch of the family of thecrescent coat of arms, and thanks to the background he built, his descendants were able to establish themselves in important offices and achieve lordship and eventually count status.
