Abstract
We appreciate the effort of Caton et al. (2022) to replicate our original study despite the fact that their well-intended aim partly failed due to a questionable application of landmarks on facial photographs and lack of subsequent control of shape coordinates before analysis. The authors have collected a large dataset which we believe will represent a solid base for further investigations after a careful correction of landmark (and semilandmark) positions that describe facial shape.
