Abstract
The article captures the forms of contemporary Slovak literature in the Czech cultural environment. The situation of Slovak literature in our country has a number of specifics that are incomparable to translation into any other Slavic (and non-Slavic) languages.
Compared to the situation immediately after the revolution, it appears that Czech readers have already become accustomed to Slovak literature available in translation. If Slovak literature is to be read in our country, it must be mediated through translation.
