The God, the snake and the image. Some thoughts on the cult of divine snakes in the Late and Graeco Roman Periods

Abstract

The chapter deals with four terms used in ancient Egyptian religious texts to denote sacred or mythical snakes. The chapter also reveals differences between the individual terms and shows different conceptions of divine manifestation in snakes.
