The painter Barbora Šlapetová and the sculptor Lukáš Rittstein, who have undertaken nearly two dozen expeditions to West Papua and Papua New Guinea since 1997. Their artistic project, including drawings, photographs, casts, happenings and films, contains important testimonies not only about myths and customs, but also about cultural, economic and political changes conditioned by globalisation, affecting the life of indigenous tribes.
The artists create a social and cultural analysis using anthropological knowledge, fieldwork methods and collaboration with socio-cultural anthropologists. Their work can be considered a stimulating model of anthropological knowledge representation.
