Abstract

The ritual "removing the footprints" (int-rd) represents one of the final acts among numerous different rituals, taking place both in tomb and temple, and is attested from the time of the Old Kingdom until Roman times. Although the ritual frequently occurs in a temple context both as part of the Offering ritual as well as the Daily temple sanctuary ritual, it is only a single time depicted on the walls of a temple from Ptolemaic and Roman times - in the "Hall of the Offerings" of the Horus temple at Edfu.
