Abstract
The topic of the paper is communication of the deaf in written Czech and in Czech sign language. The paper presents a research project focused on the analysis of narratives in written Czech and in Czech sign language, which were created on the basis of a picture story.
The authors of the texts were deaf pupils aged between14 to 16, educated in primary schools for pupils with hearing impairment. The findings provide a starting point for a discussion on the issue of language education of deaf pupils in Czech sign language.
