Abstract
This article summarizes the preliminary results of the validation of the Professional Care Team Burden Scale (PCTB), which has so far been validated only in Austria and Turkey. This measurement tool is used to assess the burden of direct care workers aka formal caregivers in nursing homes.
The translation into Czech language was developed within the DEMDATA project under the supervision of docent. Iva Holmerová and Prof.
Stefanie Auer, who developed the measurement tool. However, the Czech version has not yet been sufficiently statistically validated, nor has the practical benefit of the tool been investigated.
The description of the burden of formal caregivers and the mapping of its measurement, which will be the focus of, among other things, the dissertation of one of the authors, may serve to deepen the so far insufficiently described field of social work and may also provide suggestions for improving the working conditions of formal caregivers in homes for the elderly.
